Can you recommend a lovely, inexpensive hotel in central Hamburg?

Does such a thing exist?!

Planning ahead and looking to visit the christmas Market this year so would like something pretty central but not too basic. It's our first break without children and whilst we like luxury we can't really afford it!

We have stayed at this hotel several times when we lived in Germany and loved it, it is right by the train station nice and easy to get around Hotel Europäischer Hof Hamburg

Don't think it was that expensive if I remember rightly.

It really is a lovely hotel and often have special offers and a fab swimming pool with a slide that goes outside the hotel and then back in.

Just remembered that you also get given a 3 day pass for the trains and buses to get around Hamburg.

we stayed here once, it is more like a b&b.
