Hello all! I am due to travel for the first time with my darling daughter and was just wondering what the protocol is for the use of car seats on planes! Are you able to use right up to the gate or does it get stored along with your luggage at check in?! I don't have a buggy so was planning on using a baby carrier up to the departure area if car seat is put in with luggage........any experience/help appreciated :D

IME it can be either way. BA has been very accommodating in the past and even let me use it on the plane as the seat next to me was empty. Only had to have DS on lap at take off and landing.
