Anyone been to Calpe recently?

If so, would you recommend it for 2-3 weeks holiday? Travelling with 8yr old and two 18yr olds. I haven't been to Spain for years and someone mentioned Calpe-just looking for somewhere with nice beaches, villa with pool (not to far from restaurants etc) and some (sedate) nightlife for teens.
Be grateful for any advice. TIA

We went last year to a villa between Calpe and Moraira. I actually much preferred Moraira to Calpe. There were some nice restaurants and beaches, but all the beaches were pretty busy as it was August. Calpe would have more nightlife for the teens I would guess. We stayed here villa in case it is any use to you. The free car hire was handy too, although it may be a bit small for 5 of you.

Thanks runoutofideas, I'm not sure about Calpe as, based on some online videos I've watched, it just isn't doing it for me at all! It's been so long since I've been to Spain I'm at a complete loss.

I preferred Menorca, if that helps! Might be too quiet for teens though.
