Best beach in majorca

...for calm, slowly sloping sea and not too much tourist tat and maybe a chillout beach bar foor mums and dads ;)

Anyone got any secret spots/favourites they will tell us about other than Puerto Pollensa? Doesn't necessarily have to be for the above but if differnet please list why you love it.

we love palma nova (not in peak time though because i imagine it can be very busy). the beach is clean and it does slope into the sea. everything is pretty closeby as the resort is not very big but has plenty to keep you occupied. there are plenty of different eating places and there is a small play area at one edge of the beach and also a mcdonalds close by if you really have to! it literally is beach, promanade, road, bars/restaurants and then behind them hotels and houses for a couple of streets and then a road and greenery.

we are going back in October this year, it will be our second time there. we have also been to santa ponsa but didnt like that and actually spent a bit of time in palma nova that time as well.

on the downside it is close to magaluf so it probably does get very busy in peak season but it is far enough away not to get any of the riff raff from it, but it is far enough to stroll to for the day,

we love Sa Coma - east side. No Majorcan character but the beach is huge, safe, soft white sand, plenty of cafes and restaurants, and a nature reserve next door. We like it so much we'll be living there in 3 years.
If you head North from there through Cala millor and Cala Bona on the road towards Costa de los Pinos, there's a nice quiet beach with a bar, can't remember its name, more atmospheric and quite posh but the sand is more grainy. Cala Mondrago near Felanitx is a nature reserve with 2 interlinked bays, very pretty but imagine it'll be busy in summer - we only went at Easter. Canyamel has a nice beach bar but the beach is more steeply sloped into the sea and the sand is darker. My money obviously is on sa Coma - it is very busy in summer just beacuse it is so nice (Caribbean)

Thanks so much - this is great. We are actually staying at Cala Mesquida so some of those Eastern ones sound great. Keep them coming if anyone has any more gems.

Definitely Cala Mondrago- promise you will loveit, it's south east and white sand / family friendly; jealous!!!

I second polarfox, Cala Mondrago but admit I've only been out of season

es trenc is great, but packed at weekends. port soller is also lovely

Cala Tuent is awesome but you need nerves of steel for the drive there!
