Is anyone good at searching for holidays?

If so, do you fancy helping me? Because I am rubbish and I can't find anything that isn't hellishly expensive.

Requirements:

Departure dates 12 or 13 August from Edinburgh (preference) or Glasgow if we must.

2 adults and 1 3 year old. Looking for a good kids club

Guaranteed sun.

AI would be fantastic but would look at anything else as long as it is a good price, had good flights, ie no arriving at 3 am and has a club where DS can go for a couple of hours a day.

Thank you!

Do you want hotel or self-catering (or even something like Eurocamp?)

What budget?

Geordieminx · 19/07/2011 16:16

Whats your budget?

gregssausageroll · 19/07/2011 17:26

Ideally no more than £2k if AI but much less if not that. Would prefer hotel. No SC and definiately not camping type holiday.

Pampering for mum is the way to go.

You can fly to Tenerife with ryanair from Edinburgh for £420 + the usual fees.... I would book that and a hotel seperately?

Haven't looked at flight times though

Ponders · 19/07/2011 17:42

oh, they're not bad - 0825 from E'burgh or 0640 from Glasgow, return 1500 or 1315 respectively.

I only looked at Greece, \link{http://www.firstchoice.co.uk/\here's their home page} with search box

gregssausageroll · 19/07/2011 17:50

If I book separately I have no way of knowing about kids club. I know it sounds like I am booking it all round that and in many ways I am but DH and I are it. We have no support network for babysitting etc. If we can get a kids club it means he can go there in the afternoon and we can have a long lunch, couple of drinks, chill out together etc. It is really important to us.

Will look at the Greece one. Thank you.

No worries, there are loads of options out there.

first choice seem to have some good deals, or like I said book your own flights and hotel, although you will need to factor in transfers. Tenerife airport to Las Americas is only about ?25, and there are websites that allow you to book in advance your taxi/mini bus.

Onthebeach is good for holidays and separate hotels, our favorite is hotels4u.com. Both of these have deals with quidco, so don't forget to go through them,.. In April we got 10% back from our £1500 hotel so a fair chunk

MindtheGappp · 19/07/2011 18:18

Look at lastminute.com. We have just come back from an all inclusive holiday for six in Tunisia for £2000.

Geordieminx · 19/07/2011 18:19

Aqua splash estival hotel in costa dorada. £2k exactly, flying from Glasgow on the Saturday, free access to huge waterpark 10 mintues walk away, short flight times too.

Geordieminx · 19/07/2011 18:23

coral beach in Cyprus looks fab slightly over budget but 5*

Geordieminx · 19/07/2011 18:26

St George Garden family club in Paphos 4* AI with loads for kids Inc kids buffet. Is under £2k too

(these are all on first choice website btw)

scurryfunge · 19/07/2011 18:27

Just come back from staying at the hotel next to St Georges in Paphos -looked fab but small rocky beach.

gregssausageroll · 19/07/2011 19:08

I am getting cross. I see the hotels Geordie and I can see it says free kids but he's still being charged as you go through the booking.

OP posts:
Geordieminx · 19/07/2011 19:16

Just because it says free kids it doesn't mean that there are places available. They only have a certain number of free kids places and these sell out quite quickly.

On the left hand side I ticked All Inlusive and free child places, there were a couple but mostly not, but all still came in under £2k
