We've had a rubbish year with lots of trauma - I want a relax- by- the- pool -in -the- sun holiday late October. Anyone been to Turkey this time of year - wondering if warm enough? Other suggestions?

Canary Islands?

Cyprus is nice at that time of year.

I am wondering that to - hate hate hate the canaries though Sad

Mm I wondered about the Canaries. Want to avoid resorts with Sky sports in every bar and Irish pubs etc - maybe Gran Canaria is a bit quieter. Cyprus sounds good - i'll have a look.

As DH is a teacher, we have to go away during school holidays. We've been to Crete, Tunisia, Egypt, India, Turkey, and Aus all were sunny although the last one was a ridiculous distance to go for two weeks.

Mexico, really nice in October x

Turkey is nice in October - not blazing heat but pleasantly warm when we went 2 years ago.

Rhodes, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt - all lovely in October

minxthemanx · 15/07/2011 20:58

Thanks for that, I fancy Turkey (been before to Fetiyhe area) or Cyprus. Am not convinced we'll get much sun in Cornwall in August so plan B needed for October half term!

We went to turkey 16th Oct last year- it was lovely. About 25 degrees every day.

Turkey is normally lovely in October, it does get a bit cool at night and occassionally there is a quick shoer but it usually passes very quickly.

I have been there in October a few times as I lived out there for 3 years. We are also going back this October half term. you can also get some great shopping bargains as they like to sell of their stock before the winter!
