We're off in a few weeks to croatia.

Just having a bit of a sudden realisation that I speak no croatian.

Do most croations speak english? will I need my phrasebook (i am trying to wade through it)

What about eating out? will we understand menus?

and busses? do you think we can do busses without speaking a word of croatian?

Lucky you Smile, yes majority of people speak good English.
Almost everywhere menu is printed in Croatian, English, German etc.
Food is a great mix of grilled fresh meat and "catch of the day" fish.
Pizza, pasta, salads and ice creams are top quality to rival top Italian gelatti.
Busses are fine and generally air cond.
Majority bus tickets sale personnel speak good english.
hope this helps, have a swim for me too Grin

Make sure you and children make the most of swimming in the sea.

It is beautifully clean and clear, gentle and salinity is high, you will all come back with glowing toned skin, seriously is probably unlike anything you ever experienced before.
Ask locals to recommend where to eat and you will be treated to culinary experience.
local wine is delight and the lager is very good and cheap, seafood is to die for and ooh so fresh, enjoy Smile
