Help! Need to find accommodation for a party of 12+ for New Year

I've been charged with finding somewhere for our lifeguard club to go to over New Year. There's going to be between 12 and 16 of us. Anyone know anywhere that might take us just for 3 nights that won't cost a fortune? I've been searching the internet for cottages that take large parties but some of them want over £2,000 and a week's booking! We're on the South Coast and probably wouldn't want to travel much further north than the Cotswolds.

I think you'd be lucky to get a place for that many at this short notice. Good luck!

try laterooms
although they migh only do hotels? not sure.

Good luck at this notice! I hitnk that you've defintiely drawn the short straw. "Cheap" "away" and "New Year" don't go together that easily! (Unless you're willing to do it the following weekend!)

Have you thought about Northern France, just thinking about those Gites standing empty?

You might find somewhere that has 2 or 3 properties in the same complex eg farm conversion etc...but still expensive.

Thanks for your suggestions and comments! I had no idea that New Year was "high season" when I volunteered to find somewhere. Doh!

That's a really good idea LR! We're in Poole and can get a ferry to France in the time it can take to drive to Cornwall. Shall go and investigate the cost of that now.

The place you suggested GF is right up our street! But it's booked .

I think we might end up sending dd to Grandma's and hosting a party! It's never any bother - I don't clean the house pre-party as it ends up trashed, they all turn up with sackloads of booze, aren't interested in a buffet - pringles and dips will do, and a riproaring time is normally had by all. The last time someone arrived at 5am to find them still going (I had long gone to bed) and my knickers frozen to my car ariel.
