Passport renewal

Anyone who has renewed one recently, what is current turn around time please ?

DS did check and send at the PO on the 3rd June, and it came back yesterday (yes - on a sunday!!)
Only did the normal extortionate price, not the fast track one.

We did DD1s at the end of April and it came back within 3 days. Posted Monday, back Thursday.

That was without Check and Send, and without fast track.

It was quite a straightforward renewal with no potential problems re ID, nationality, citizenship etc.

Child one two weeks with check and send via post office

DH in March Check and send with post office sent on Tuesday, back on Friday. At same time friend just sent of passports for DH and DD got rejected on photos ended up having appointment at passport office in London where they admitted that they are more lenient on photos that come through check and send - the officer said that the original photos probably would have got through check and send and been accepted!!!

Just got it back - so 2 weeks normal service, without using Check and Send. Do they still return the cancelled one ?
