Disneyland 2 nights, 3 days???

I am confused - just booked 2 nights and it says 3 days, if you can't check in until 3pm on first day then that isn't in park? obv day after first night then second night then do you just check out and get that day there too?

hotels are separate to the park so dont need to check into one to do the other. So presumably you get a park pass separately so could dump baggage and go to the park and check in later (or check in when you arrive but on understanding that room won't be ready -have done that before) . Ditto on last day depending on travel arrangements presumably you can check out, leave bags and enjoy the park.
