New Hampshire and Maine this summer

We're spending a week in NH with friends, then heading to Maine. We have a place to stay for a week, but need somewhere for two nights in between the NH and Maine places. Can anyone suggest/recommend anywhere between Conway and Bar Harbor (or in or around)?

Augusta, Maine is about half way. I'm not sure there's enough to do for 2 days though. You might want to look on tripadvisor.com. There are Maine and New Hampshire forums where you can post questions or just browse.

Maine is just lovely, and Bar Harbor is fantastic. I'm very envious! We had a great holiday there (10 years ago now) driving from Boston to Bar Harbor. We stopped off at North Conway and then at Bath along the way.

Thanks both. I'm a little nervous about the amount of driving involved (only because I know how bored we'll all get), but also very excited!
