Hi - following a disappointing holiday this year on greek island and surprisingly well behaved dk's on the flights, DH and I are feeling brave enough to venture a bit further for next years holiday! DD will be 6 and ds 4 so would like somewhere with kids clubs although dont expect to use them for more than a couple of days as we like to make the most of our time together. We are lazy lay around and read types although DH is well known for his sand creations so good beach is a must. Has anyone been anywhere they would recommend or would suggest avoiding just so that I have a starting point. TIA.

We went to the Iberostar in Cozumel in June and it was not what we expected (in a bad way) and so we transferred to the Iberostar Paraiso del Mar half way through our holiday and can I just say - Oh My God! It was amazing, a fantastic hotel, loads of restaurants so loads of choice, an amazing pool, and a stunning beach as well as really nice hotel accomodation.

I am not one for going back to places I have been to before but we would definitely go there again if we could afford it as we loved it.

We went to the Residence in Mauritis, last summer. It is their low season so it was less expensive than a lot of places in the carribean. Fantastic kids club, great beach warm sea and absolutely fabulous staff. They also had sailing and diving inclusive and glass bottomed boats, canoes etc. Would definately go back there. We went with Scott Dunn and they were really helpful

Almond Beach Village in Barbados - we stayed at the adult only place nearby, which is linked, and went to have a look at this one for our dd - 13 months - for next year, and I thought it had v good facilities for kids and parents cd enjoy it too. it's a big family hotel - but good child care, and weather guaranteed. also; cheapish virgin flights which are good with kids
