How doable is it? Would do the daytime crossing. Is there enough to entertain an 8mo - eg somewhere she can crawl, windows to look out of, baby change facilities etc?

I always enjoyed doing it. littlemad had fun everytime I took him on the ferry.

Yeah it is ok but why can't you do the overnight one? Much easier.

Hi angryfeet. Because cabin too small for travel cot and if she has own bunk she might fall out and if we share bunk neither of us will get sleep plus can't really leave her alone in cabin if I need loo. Plus if we had a bad night then we also have a bad next day whereas if we go in the day we would have a good night sleep once we arrived.
