Family friendly October half term holiday

Hi, we're looking to take a week's holiday at October half term and have no idea where to go. Can anyone help???

We're looking for somewhere warm and sunny (say 26 - 28 degrees), short or medium flight time (max 6 hours). A beach holiday with great restaurants and some nice towns/local sites to have a meander around. We want a relaxing holiday as DS is starting school this September so we will all need a break (there's just me, hubby and DS).

How about the Canaries?

We have booked a week away for October half term, we are going to Bodrum in Turkey. It is lovely there, warm and sunny at that time of year.

Yes we have been to both the canaries and Turkey In October- Turkey was the winner as it has historical sites all over the place . Alanya is a nice resort further East so hotter but it is a big country : We hired a car and went alongthe coast We found magical hotels but the way they drive can be a bit overwhelming We fetched up one night in a 5 star sultans type hotel- will never forget it Oluz Deniz is also a nice place
