Sorry if I am creating a subject been done previously but I am due in Feb and my dh, mum and dad, myself and baby will be wanting to go abroad about July time (If all goes to plan). Mum mentioned France but I am in two minds after a bad experience there a few years ago, however I'm not ruling it out if somebody can tell me some nice stories of where they have been. I would preferably like somewhere with a pool/beach nearby. Is it wise to fly with a child so young or am I best off sticking to the ferry?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

DOnt think there is any problem with flying with a baby of that age. Dont have any holiday suggestions for a babe of that age though, the first place we took DS was Australia, just before his first birthday.

Hmmm Oz is a little out of our price range!

i think when they are that small it is the best time. We went to spain this year, which was easy enough. Children were welcome everywhere, even late at night. We got a villa which meant we had privacy and the space to look after baby, make bottles etc.

Presumably you flew Kelly? We were thinking along the villa lines too, I do like Spain aswell, might opt for there as appose to France

yep, flew from gatwick to alicante, and got a villa from villa renters . We were flying with 5 mnth twins. Our villa had a shared pool, 5 mins from beach and we had the car, so even made it as far as benidorm for the big theme park.

sorry, link should be here

I'd avoid Spain in July tbh, the one time I went there in July I found it way too hot for me, let alone a small baby. I do tend to feel the heat quite badly though, so could just be me...

Make sure you've got air con though. We took dd1 to Menorca which was v. family-friendly and not too long a flight. She was fine on the plane and very popular with the elderly ladies across the gangway .

i live in spain and in july its blooming boiling. I would recommend France. We used to rent a gite through Brittany ferries. They have a full range, country seaside, family friendly etc, some with swimmng pools. They were always really well equipped, bbqs, cots etc. we found with dd we were still able to work round nightime routines and have a few glasses of wine in the garden.
