We have booked to go to Copenhagen in July for a long weekend, (Thursday to Sunday). Flights booked and have tickets to see Take That, can anyone recommend a good hotel and places to visit. Only our second trip without kids in 10 years, so want to make the most of it.

I can't recommend any hotels but places to visit include: Tivoli Gardens (beautiful gardens with ponds, restaurants, live music, amusement park), best in the evening; The Museum of Danish Resistance 1940-1945; a walk around the palace and a stroll to the Little Mermaid; shopping down Kongensgade; lunch/beer at Nyhavn (beautiful harbour area in centre of town); perhaps tour of Carlsberg brewery; boat trip; a walk around Christiania, a part of town that officially doesn't have to follow the same laws as the rest of Denmark - full of chilled hippies and little shops selling hash; Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek (Museum of ancient and modern art).
Copenhagen's a beautiful city, but make sure you take plenty of cash with you, as it's also a very expensive one! A great way to get around is on their bike hire, much like the Boris bikes in London and Velocity in Paris. And it is mega bike-friendly because the Danes live for cycling .
Have fun!
