Problem 1 - mobile phone in Iceland

I am going on holiday to Iceland on my own - the rest of the family have various other plans this year. I have only one mobile phone which work provide for me - what would be the cheapest an best way to arrange things to phone home? I don't really want to say to work that I'll just use the phone and pay them back - is there a system where I can just buy a sim card? I feel very ignorant about this sort of thing!

Hi,

I am not very technology minded but I was attracted to your post because I have friends in Iceland at the moment at a Conference!

You can definately buy sim cards which are compatible with most mobiles- I would go to the shop of which network you are on and usually they are pretty good with advice. IF not google- you may even be able to get a free one online!

Have a super trip!

Thanks - hadn't thought of trying the shop.
