Day out in/near Buxton, Derbyshire with 5yo and 7yo girls?

DH has to go to Buxton for a brief work thing so we thought we might all go for the day. What's best to do nearby?

Tips for places to eat etc also gratefully received. Thanks!

It ages since I've been there, but a shirt drive away are the Treak Cliff Cavern and the Blue John Cavern (both near Castleton, as is Peveril Castle). Very memorable, if you don't mind going deep underground.
