Wasn't there a special on IoW in Sat or Sun Times last w/e? They were raving about it saying it's where all the movers and shakers go now Wink

Saturday times weekend supplement they listed one of our favourite places The old fort cafe\bar in Seaview - we must be movers and shakers Hmm, probably means we'll never get a table ever again. It is a beautiful place nice beer good pub grub, but I think gastropub is giving it airs it doesn't have. Does have good kids menu DD loves their kids spag bol, for me beer batter fish and chips. At weekends you need to book. At the very most eastern end of Ryde beach The Dell Cafe crab sandwiches to die for.
With kids and one single day I would choose a beach Ryde big wide and Sandy, St Helens Duver sand and rock pools at low tide and Sandown big wide sandy, but a bit more built up sea front. I'm an East Wighter.

this place has a good reputation and is a beautiful spot in a small village on the south.
We didn't eat there, but I wish I had!

ah - with kids!

We enjoyed our meal the the Spyglass Inn in Ventnor.

And at the other end of the island a walk up to the Old Battery, seeing the needles.

Depends what sort of thing you like.
