Not sure if this is the place to post but anyway...
We are staying at a hotel for my couin's wedding on Saturday. We have a family room for the 4 of us, me and DH, 4.5 year old son and 2.5 year old daughter. Daughter is still in a cot so will have to go in a travel cot or whatever the hotel provides (!- she's quite small so I'm hoping she won't object to this!).
My question really is how do people cope at weddings etc when the party carries on into the evening and it is kiddie bedtime. I think the kids will need to go to bed before the grown ups or they will just get increasingly grotty and be no fun for anyone- so does anyone have any tips of what worked for you?
Does one of us need to sit in the room with them? We could take it in shifts.. Will a monitor stretch from first floor to where we are all boogieing (think our room is only on first floor above wedding)? The hotel doesn't have a listening service as such but said we could book someone- however I don't think I want a stranger sitting in hotel room, that would freak both children out I think!
Both children are generally good sleepers but we don't stay in hotels much (normally go for cottage option on holiday) and they may well be a bit unsettled due to different environment- think we will try to show them the room before hand etc but still bit new and scary.... Neither children will just fall asleep in a buggy/on a lap as I've seen some children do at weddings, they are more likely to stay awake and get hyper/grisly..
Sorry for long post!
