I haven't flown since 2004 - what do I need to know?

Title says it all really! I haven't been on a plane in a long time, and DH and I are off for a 2-night break at half term.

Little bottles of everything, and no nail clippers is what springs to mind, but what else do I need to think about? What has changed in the travelling-world since I stopped doing it??!!

Hopefully you're not flying the plane...

All hand luggage toiletries in a see-through plastic baggie

Don't wear complicated shoes to take on and off

Grin Himalaya!

In a clear plastic bag? Do the bottles they are in also have to be see-through?

Argh, this is more complicated than I thought!

To make it as easy as possible through customs I would recommend:
No boots, no belts, no necklace/bracelet, make sure change and keys are in bags not pocket. Liquids have been covered already. Coats off before you get to security screening. No sharp objects. Can you tell I do this a lot!?

Hope you have a lovely time.

Just seen last post - liquids must be in a clear plastic sealable bag (eg the zip ones or the ones that click into place)

The bottles don't have to be seethru, just the baggie. Or pack all liquids in checked in bags an don't worry.
