What is the best carry on case?
Want to get a nice one for dh. Black and plain. He reckons there is one that will take a suit.

Happy to pay (as long as it's not something handtooled in crocodile skin......)

Thank you.

PARP

moondog · 10/11/2005 14:28

Eh????

I came to your rescue yesterday s requested, but she had gone. Think she was barking anyway.

C'mon Chinese blokes are good on this sort of stuff!

OP posts:
suzywong · 10/11/2005 14:32

he is a jet setter too, I will ask him

nope, can't get anything out of him, he's watching a chinese historical epic movie and is being a bit obtuse

sorry

moondog · 10/11/2005 14:34

Don't you see what he takes to the airport then???

Lonelymum · 10/11/2005 14:36

Dh has a special carrying case for his suit and uses my freebie cabin bags from la redoute for his other luggage. But I will ask him tonight MD to see if he has any other suggestions.

moondog · 10/11/2005 14:41

He has one of those suitcarrier things lm. He told me you can get one into those wheely bags.
TIA

Jeeeez we're dull.

(Er Mr MD and myself that is. Not you lovely ladies. Oh no no no no no.)

Lonelymum · 10/11/2005 14:44

Well dh spnds half his life on planes or in airports so I am sure he will have spotted the latest, ludicorously expensive, must-have luggage accessory. (I won't be getting it for him - he has requested a £16 chilli plant!)

Lonelymum · 10/11/2005 14:45

Oh dear, sorry about typos.

suzywong · 10/11/2005 14:47

I will have a look at the bag later, it's late now
I think he got it from K-Mart
I hate K-Mart, not the same as Woolies

LM have you plucked those effin eyebrows yet or what? Actually I must do mine

Can you tell it's vodka o'clock here?

Lonelymum · 10/11/2005 14:48

Susywong, no I effing haven't! In my defence, no-one ever told me how to. I did take another look at them yesterday and think "God I should do it".

Gobbledigook · 10/11/2005 14:49

I've got a really nice black samsonite one - mind you, some airlines have let me carry on and some haven't.

Lonelymum · 10/11/2005 14:49

Sory Moondog, but Susywong, if you are handing out beauty tips, nip over to my ZITS thread in health.

suzywong · 10/11/2005 14:51

ok will do

moondog · 10/11/2005 14:52

Samsonite is a good make isn't it?

I need one that will go on every flight (although God knows, sure Turkish Air don't care too much judging by the amount of people I see on their flights with bloody cats in great big boxes.)

OP posts:
suzywong · 10/11/2005 14:54

you mean he has to be able to carry it on as hand luggage?

I think they all differ somewhat, I know that before mr wong bought his he called up SIngapore Airlines and United and checked their dimensions

He never wears a suit so don't know if a suit would fit in it

I am trying to be helpful

moondog · 10/11/2005 15:03

Yes.
Sorry,thought I made that clear.
Carry on jobby, enough for a few days and fits a suit.

I do appreciate all efforts I swear! Just hate shopping so much. I'm looking for a recommendation so I can order online and get it sent to me (sending a suitcase..how surreal).

OP posts:
elastamum · 10/11/2005 15:08

Samsonite is good, check that it will be small enough for carry on for european airlines such as easyjet as the US cabin baggage size is bigger and some of the carry ons are too big for europe. I have got a wheelie one ( not a 4X4 BTW)

moondog · 10/11/2005 15:12

Glad to hear it elastamum.

Lonelymum · 10/11/2005 19:05

Oh sorry Moondog, welcome to the world of my disappointing dh. He said in response to your request for a carry on bag that takes a suit, "ooh yes, let me know as I would like one." But he also reckons Samsonite might do one but it might not always be accepted as hand luggage "It is a function of plane size" were his exact words. And you thought you lived with a boring man!

zippitippitoes · 10/11/2005 19:22

Here is one Travel Pro Carry On

Enid · 10/11/2005 19:24

I have a plain black samsonite one - relic of my days jetsetting now dh uses it - very man friendly and plain black nylon

Enid · 10/11/2005 19:27

Its like this

moondog · 10/11/2005 19:34

Thanks girls.
I'm checking them out.

harpsichordcarrier · 10/11/2005 19:54

I have had a cabin case from Antler for years and years, not exactly like this one but he forerunner
it has done many faithful air miles in my company
[wistful emoticon]

swedishmum · 10/11/2005 22:24

Dh has a travelpro he's used at least twice a week for about 7 years now. He now has something very expensive from Tumi that he loves - looks pretty black and carry-on to me...
