Can anybody recommend accommodation here? Hoping to go in Jan. We're 2 adults, 1 baby and a 3 year old...

find somewhere near the beach, it is hilly snd the roads are quite busy. We picked a pleasant sounding apartment complex unfortunately at the top of the town...it was indeed pleasant and peaceful but the pool was tiny and was full of old Danish people the whole time...didn't really blend well with DD. Also in Jan we found it wasn't warm enough to swim in an unheated outdoor pool - the air was hot but the water did not get enough direct sun.
not sure how helpful this post is!!

Hi

We have just recently come back from Puerto. There are two nice H10 hotels right near the sea on the West of the resort. We stayed in the San Felipe. There is also the Tenerife Playa just around the corner which is H10 too. Both are 4*, although the swimming pools look better at the San Felipe and two of them are heated. You are right next to the Lido here too, although it is undergoing major refurbishment and only half of it is open at present. The beach at this end isn't suitable for swimming, but the pools were good in the hotel so it didn't really bother us.

Don't forget to do Loro Parque whilst there all of our children loved it. Along one of the main streets at night there are living statues, this became a regular thing that we had to go and do too.

I agree with hovely it is very hilly there. If you want to be near the beach - the beach where you can swim is called Playa Jardin.

I hope you have a lovely time - we certainly did and the children are desperate to go back.

Sorry - I meant that the H10 hotels are on the East of the resort, was thinking about the good beach being to the West of the resort!!!

thanks for tips! is the food good at the san felipe? i've never stayed anywhere 1/2 board before, looking at various websites that appears to be the only option there.

We thought the food was really good. There is lots of choice everyday. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style you have as much or as little as you like. There was plenty there that our youngest who is 2 would eat.

We met some elderly people who were staying at the Tenerife Playa they said the food was really good there too, but that the swimming pool complex was nothing like the San Felipe (in which they had stayed before). Lunches at the San Felipe are very reasonable as well. 1/2 hot chicken with salad was abou €4.80 from memory and was really nice. They do very nice pizza as well if your children like them. I think you only have 1/2 or fullboard options there. I must admit we did go out for a meal one evening - cost us nearly €85 and we thought the food at the hotel was much bettter - but everyone is different.

We were very impressed - but then we don't get away much lol!
