Any1 drove from calais to the alps with 11 mo old??

Doing our yearly ski trip, but this is 1st one with DD.....I wondered for those of you that drive to the Alps how you timed it/planned it etc with 11 mo old? I am trying to aim to do most of the driving thorugh the night (so DD sleeps through most of it...) How do your lo's cope with the long journey etc and please post any tips for me

Took the train instead! Great fun & much more relaxing.

Buy a portable DVD player - fantastic invention for long car journeys!

Would have thought an 11 month old may be a little young for DVDs.
What sort of car are you going in?

we've got an A6, roof bars pod you name it (so we can cram everything in!) HAve been by snow train before (and eurostar) but we don't fancy having to carry skis/boards/poles/buggy etc etc with us....we like the idea of loading up ONCE iyswim....! dont want to fly as by the time we have messed about flying including tranfers etc its just as quick to drive! I think we will aim to get ferry at prob 6ish so I can give DD her bottle etc ready for 9 hour drive from calais to val thoren thru the night....dd has never been in the car for a long journey thou let alone 9 hrs...
