Places like Timpsons (the shoe/key places) will do them against a screen.

candleshoe · 09/05/2011 22:16

We went to a teal od fashioned family portrait photographer's shop in our town - they had a .special chair and everything. Whole thing cost a tenner.

candleshoe · 09/05/2011 22:17

real old (sorry typos)

diggingintheribs · 09/05/2011 22:17

snappysnaps or other photo places

MrsKwazii · 09/05/2011 22:17

Do you have a Snappy Snaps or similar photography shop near you? They may lay your baby down on a big white board and take the pic from over them, or sit them against a plain background. Hope he's not a wriggler Grin

poorbuthappy · 09/05/2011 22:19

find 1 of the post offices who offer the photo service. I got our local post office to take photos of the twins so I knew that they would be acceptable! Think it was £4.50 for each set of photos.

Famouslastwords · 09/05/2011 22:20

We've just had our DSs photos done at Snappy Snaps. They took a couple of different head shots and then chose the best one.
Pretty sure there are other places that will do this.
It cost us £10 for 4 piccies.

My daughter looked like every single one of her cousins at the same age. I think they just share the same photo when someone has a baby.

diggingintheribs · 09/05/2011 22:22

but no - not a white board - it has to be a very pale shade of grey apparently.

snappysnaps did 12 week old dd and 3 week old ds and gave good advice too

i think under a year they don't need their eyes open

Primlico · 09/05/2011 22:27

We took one of our six month old at home (plain blanket) on a normal digital camera, printed it the right size and it was accepted. Kids outgrow their baby passport photos so quickly that the photo is almost meaningless. Although they don't admit it, the Home Office is probably aware of this fact and therefore a bit more flexible.

susiegrapevine · 09/05/2011 22:30

wow everyone thanks for the great response! Thanks Sidge for the Timpsons suggestion. MrsKwazii my lo is a wriggler but he is also a poser everytime he see a camera he poses for the photo!
Thanks everyone who suggested snappy snaps unfortuantly my nearest one is 23 miles away which is ridiculous cos it not like i live in the middle of nowhere!

I got DD's done at Jessops when she was just 4 weeks old. They will retake/print for free if the PO reject them, but they know exactly what the requirements are. Even if it takes half an hour to get the monster little cherub in the right position Grin

susiegrapevine · 09/05/2011 22:32

oh jessops is a good suggestion there is one of those really near me! Thanks!
