Spain - looking for Beach holiday near Valencia or Barcelona

We are hoping to make a trip to Spain this year and are going to Valencia and barcelona for a week then thought we would try and go to a beach resort for a week. Any help would be greatly received

Costa Brava nice if you choose resort carefully, Tossa de Mar meant to be nice & not too lager-louty/brits abroad. Further down coast, Cambrils near Salou v nice.

this place is lovely, just north of Barcelona. Didn't meet any other Brits there.

It's camping or bungalows, just a couple of minutes from the beach. Lots of swimming pools between the bungalows.

Have a look at Sitges. It's 40 min train journey from Barcelona and has a beautiful beach

Sitges is indeed lovely, nice beach and lots of cafes and nightlife - think Spanish Brighton.
