Anybody been to Kitzbuhel in the summer?

We're thinking of going to Kitzbuhel in August, and I need some advice! We would prefer a self catering apartment, as don't want to leave our 2 year old daughter in the room while we go for dinner. Am having trouble finding an apartment though (need somewhere with 3 bedrooms and most only seem to have 2), also not sure about locations. We haven't been there before, so am not sure how big the village is - i.e. if they say "close to the village", is that actually 5 miles from the centre?!

Any suggestions would be welcome!

Hi, we've not stayed in Kitzbühel in the summer but have stayed in other Austrian resorts both in summer and winter. With a 2 year old I'd suggest looking at Kinderhotels, we stayed at the Hotel Alpenrose in Lermoos as well as the Brennseehof in Feld am See (directly on the lake) which was both really lovely, both for the kids as well as us. Otherwise I would suggest contacting the hotels directly and asking them about location, child care etc. Overall Austrian summer holidays are very good value for money (certainly compared to the package holidays to the med or even in the uk).
