Milk on the plane!!!

Hiya, Very confused about feeding my baby on the plane - how much milk am I allowed to take through security? Will I have to taste it? My mate bought cartons of SMA to take through security but wasn't even allowed to take them through even though they were sealed cartons. How confusing!!
Thanks
:)

I think you can take what you like. I took cartons through and was fine! They might make you taste one so bring a bit extra. I even took pre made formula which I had to taste, just a drop on my hand.

I can't understand why they didn't let your friend take it through. Where are you flying from? Do you know of there is a boots the other end? If so call them up and ask if they sell formula, would imagine they do. So if in case the security don't let you take it through you can buy back up.

I really had no problems at all, I showed security as I went through what I had.

Whenever I've travelled security have always been funny about cartons of milk and can insist on you opening and testing it so you end up throwing it away. Best bet is to phone Boots airside and order some and they will put it aside for you. If you are worried, then take a few hand luggage and hope security won't get anal and make you open too many. I think they can insist on opening half of them.

Alternatively, buy a little container from Mothercare for formula (can get 4 or 5 feeds in one) and make it up as you go.

It depends. Security might ban you from taking the cartons in which case you can either: by some at boots on the other side of security or take some formula in small containers. In which case you might be a bit buggered if you want to follow exactly the manufacturer's instructions to make up bottles.

You can take as much baby food as you want with you, but the only problem with the carton is that you have to open all of it and taste in front of the security.

Why don't you buy already made milk in a bottle, you can buy that everywhere. If you run out there are shops at the airport like boots, they have baby milk.

flew out of Heathrow yesterday and they were making everyone taste what they had in babies bottles. I had one spare bottle of made up formula and they took it away and scanned it in a machine but did not open it.
