Hi

I have a child-free day coming up and am spending it with a friend. We thought of going to a market town type place for a bit of shopping and food, without the need to wrestle toddlers back into high chairs etc.

Except - we don't know where to go. We have thought about Chipping Norton / Bourton in the Water etc type places (north) or Marlborough (south). I have not been to any of them. Is there anyone who can recommend somewhere nice for a day out within an hour of Abingdon?

TIA :)

Stow and Bourton on the Water are lovely. Stow has a lovely little outlet centre you can visit, and Bourton on the Water is more twee overpriced touristy shops. Burford is also nice

Or Bicester Village for retail therapy? And up the road they have Bicester Avenue which has a Laura Ashly outlet, Lakeland, Hawkshead etc too.

Oh Honeydragon. Where is the outlet centre at Stow?

Bourton the Water is very touristy.

Henley, Marlow, Marlborough, Stockbridge, Stow on the Wold to name, but a few. I am a lady who spends lot of time wishing she could lunch more.
