HELP!! 1 hour commute to Canary Wharf from North of London needed

I'm starting a job shortly in Canary Wharf (well Poplar by Canary Wharf) and need to live North of London as my partner needs to be able to get to Coventry every now and then within about a 90minute drive.

I'd like to only commute about an hour once I get on a train if possible.

Essex (Brentwood, Shenfield etc) is too far for Coventry but useful for Canary Wharf. I need somewhere that would work for both.

Considering St Albans but not sure how reliable it would be using both the Northern Line (from Kings Cross St Pancras) and the DLR from Bank.

Any advice anyone........PLEASE....HELP.....having nervous breakdown constantly looking for places that would work.

How about somewhere near Milton Keynes? There are lots of lovely places and the timings just about work.

Thanks but the commute doesn't quite work. It's a 40 minute train and two tubes which if we lived say a 10minute walk from the railway station would leave about 1 hour 40 - 1 hour 50 minutes each way.

Milton Keynes is lovely though - looked at Loughton in MK as a place to live. It's a pity the commute is too long.

thanks anyway

Waltham Cross fits your bill. Train to Stratford then DLR. About 90 min to Coventry.

Have you checked out the London overground spur just opened? You can switch onto it at Highbury and Islington and go straight to Canary Wharf. Then just look up the line for where intersects with H&I.
