Recommendations needed for an exciting day out in the North West / North Wales / Staffordshire area

Can anyone recommend an exciting day out in the North West / North Wales / Staffordshire area?

We were going to go to Alton Towers or Blackpool Pleasure Beach but don't know if I can face the queues in this heat.

My other thoughts were Go Ape (but dd2 and dd3 are too young [busad] ) or the Crocky Trail (still a possibility).

The children are 11, 8 and 3.

Thanks in advance.

I've never been there and it's been on my 'to do' list for the last couple of years.

I wheeled it out as a suggestion to dd1 (11) but she really wants to do something adventurous. The aeriel extreme is great, but as with Go Ape, dd's 2 and 3 aren't old/tall enough, gah.

I've been trying to find outdoor waterparks, but I can't find any [buconfused]

Thanks for your replies [busmile]

The snow dome in Tamworth is good fun. Plenty to do for all ages and there is a pool with flumes etc (indoor though)

Thanks Tilly

Dh has vetoed the snow for now, but I'll certainly visit there another time! Thanks.

We're going to head off to the Crocky Trail and hope it's not as dangerous as some of its reviews say :o

Just in case anyone is interested, we went to the Crocky Trail.

Wow, what a great day! My girls loved it!

I'd highly recommend it to anyone wanting a bit of good old-fashioned fun Grin
