Recommendations for aparthotel / resort holiday with DD, DH and inlaws - Algarve or Menorca

Hello - I'm relatively new to mumsnet so hope I get this right!

I'm looking for recommendations for our family holiday in June. We're travelling with our 2 year old daughter and the grandparents so we have rather specific needs that go like this.

The grandparents would like to stay in a hotel and we'd like to stay in an apartment or villa within that hotel with our DD. We'd ideally like a 2 bed apartment but could possibly take a 1 bed. The idea is we have somewhere nice to relax, have drinks and a bite to eat in the evening occasionally without dragging a sleeping toddler around in a buggy every night. We've decided against a villa holiday as we all need a rest!

Another must is a Kids Club for little ones ... most I've found start from age 3 upwards. Recommendations from other mums are so helpful and so important.

We're looking at Algarve as our first option with Menorca and Majorca as possible alternatives.

If anyone out there has a specific resort name or hotel you could recommend, that would be great as a lot of people are recommending say Lagos, Cala Galdana etc without letting us know where they stayed .... which would be really helpful.

Really hoping someone can help me find a lovely much need holiday :)

The tricky bit is the kids club from age 2, you're right most start from age 3.

The Mark Warner resort Ocean Club in the Algarve ticks the boxes though. It has a toddler club and the accommodation is all in nice, spacious one and two bedroomed apartments with fully equipped kitchens but on a half board basis with wine included at dinner. So you have the best of both worlds.

The childcare is very good indeed. We had a nice relaxing holiday there when DS was 2.

It can be expensive but you are looking to travel outside peak dates so should be able to get a reasonable deal.

Check out Isla Paraiso in Arenal D'en Castell, Menorca. It's Hotel if you want, and has apartments too (1 or 2 bed), nice pools, kids clubs (at least there were when we last used it), good location, nice resort.

Or Insotel Club Punta Prima, Menorca. Family have stayed there with young children and really liked it. AI, HB, B&B or S/C, kids clubs for all ages, loads of restaurants and several swimming pools. It was a bit big for my taste, but ticks all the boxes you mention. This one is more expensive (I think it's a TUI hotel) but 5 star and if you like that sort of thing, ideal.

Hi Supercakes, I can't help you, but will be watching this thread with interest as I am looking for something very similar - Menorca/Majorca/Algarve; Apartment/Villa will access to hotel facilities for meals etc. The only differences are 2 kids rather than 1, slightly older (8 and 5), no grandparents and no kids club needed.

Have a look at the Sheraton Pine Cliffs - they have 2 bedroom units which would work for a bigger family group. Nice resort, good beach, golf/tennis/pools and less crowded in June. Weather should be lovely too, as not too hot. Scott Dunn have a children's club there which accepts children from a really young age - 6 months, I think - with English nannies - a massive bonus!! :)

Thanks so much lovely ladies, for your help, really appreciate it. Still not found anywhere but its now an availability issue as we're getting v close to when we need to go ... GAHHH! How i long for the simplicity of a 2 week package deal with sun, bars and a lovey beach to sleep it all off on! Those were the days.

here Chic studio apartments (the Sunset) with kitchen facilities. East Algarve. You can add in breakfast or half/full board.

Set in a Nature Reserve - resort is beside the Lagoon and has its own launch which takes you over to fab sandy beach - a 2 minute ride which is quite fun. 5 Minute level walk to local village which is stuffed with waterfront caffs/restaurants.

Kids Club starts from 3 though. Why not consider paying a babysitter to stay with your dd if you want some child free dinners?

Or, here - has a kids club from 6 months old - but you pay extra for it.

Have stayed at both, though can't really advise which is best and my dc's are a lot older than yours.

We only finally found somewhere! Hoorah! Thanks all for your suggestions, which we looked into but we struggled with availability towards the end as we faffed around for a while over Easter.

So for anyone else looking for similar, we found the Praia Clube, in Alvor fitted the bill for us, DD, grandparents, etc. We've got a tidy little one bed apartment and they have a babysitting service too (thanks mumonthenet) plus a private beach via a "James Bond-esqe lift".
