Anyone know of a sun hat that my toddler would find difficult to take off. He will be 15months when we go to Cyprus in June and am worried about him getting sun stroke as he wont keep the hat on that came with his sun suit!

I'm wondering whether you could customise ANY hat by sewing on a section of ribbon to each side that fastens with a button beneath the chin. Then you can do up the button and it will be too fiddly for him to undo... So long as there are 2 sections of ribbon (ie they are short) it shouldn't be hazardous, I'm pretty sure my DDs mothercare sunhat does something like this, and I think we got something from gap last year for my DS (this has straps, but with velcro so won't stay put as much!). Jojo also has these, if you don't want to bother sewing.

I had that GAP hat for ds when he was about 15 months and it worked fine. It was hard enough to get off that he lost interest after a while.

The velcro wouldn't stop a determined hat hater, but it stops them pulling/flipping it off, and obv it will come apart if it catches on something which is important from a safety point of view.
