Has anyone travelled with Canvas Holidays? Are they any good?

thinking of booking going to Italy with them and just looking for feedback. Have travelled with Thomson al Fresco before but they have no availability - we found their mobiles quite new and clean so are slightly wary of swapping operators!

We have travelled with Canvas and Eurocamp. We have found them both to be excellent.

Do check out reviews of the site you are going to, in our experience negative reviews of toilet blocks are an indicator of a badly run site.

The only company we couldnt recommend on the basis of personal experience is Siblu.

used canvas at la garangeioire in vendee. rep was one of best we've ever had - used 3 ish different companies over about 12 years. van was beautiful and massive with dishwasher and very clean with brilliant water pressure and great big pitch. no kids club and no football club - which was inconvenient - but paid extra and used keycamp one instead.

agree with gnome though - check reviews on their website and also ukcampsites. not sure if all canvas places are as good as only used them once. we've also used keycamp and eurocamp and found they vary a bit depending on local rep and site. stopped using keycamp as they could never get us across the channel at may half term - despite me booking so early that the brochures hadn't even come out.

thomson pitches at dol, for example, are in same row as eurocamp - so can't imagine they would be much difference.

I;ve been to Union Lido with them in the past and went to Park Albatros last year. I have no complaints. The mobile was lovely and clean and well situated. The reps were friendly and helpful and popped round regularly to check everything was OK. Dd enjoyed the kids club and at Park Albatros they did evening sessions a few times a week which meant dh and I could go and have a pizza/drink by ourselves which was lovely - and unexpected.

Where are you thinking of going?

I have also been with Siblu and thought they were fine! Mobile was a bit poky. I have ordered a bigger one this year.

Looking at going to camping Eden on Lake Garda. They have some kind of extra special activity thing going on that appeals to us as we all like to do physical stuff on holiday.
