Hey all,
We want to take the kids out for the day, struggling for ideas that don't cost a lot. Kids are 8 and 11.
We were thinking of London museums but done the natural history already and science, any other ones recommended?

Appreciate any ideas, thank you!!!

How about London Transport Museum or National army Museum? I haven't been to either, but am considering them for the ds's. I think there was a recent thread on the LT museum - seemed very popular.

birchykel - I heard an advert for HMS Belfast on the radio today and thought I'd add it to this thread! It's free for under 15s.

The V&A is free and puts on good arts and crafts activities in the holidays.

The RAF museum at Hendon also free. Has a good hands on section on the science of flying, and lots of old planes if they are into that kind of thing.

The National gallery and Tate modern have trails and 'backpack' tours

The British museum also has good childrens trails/backpacks. Pick one area eg: Egyptians and don't try to do the whole place... Then let of steam in Coram's Fields playground.
