We have one DD who will be about 18 months when we go away. We are looking for a week somewhere warm in September for a relaxing family break. I would like to hear if anyone with similar aged DC has done this and what/where would they recommend. I have been thinking Italy maybe - and would somewhere half board be better than self catering - good food would be important. I don't want to go anywhere too touristy or resortish iyswim and our budget would be probably in mid range - nothing mega but nothing too budget either. Also we would prob want to be somewhere quite central as we would not want to do loads of driving - which has also just made me think of problems with car seats on transfers!

We have taken our girls to Turkey since they were babies and it is lovely there, very child friendly. We prefer to go self catering as we like to have the space of an apartment or villa. With children it is also a good idea so you can cook something for them if you want, although we normally eat out, a fridge is wonderful though. You also have a bedroom to put your baby in the evening and you still have space to sit yourselves rather than being restricted to a hotel room.

We like the Bodrum Peninsula as it is close to the airport.

We are actually looking at Italy this year though for a change but as yet I don't really know where to go so I can't help you with that at the moment.

Good luck with your search
