where to stay near birmingham?

We are driving to Birmingham Airport and will be parking our car in our friend's house in Solihull but want to stay the night before in a hotel as we don't want to disturb them arriving late at night. Thanks.

Oh forgot to mention we will be traveling from south Wales and ideally would liked to stay somewhere in between closer to the Motorway.
