would mould and ,ildew (black spots) be expected on allk the curtains and nets? would you expect the place to be so damp that in the mornings the table and units were wet?

No, I excpet that from a budget one, sounds like our one we had last year.

beansprout · 31/10/2005 18:05

I wouldn't expect that from anywhere!! That's disgusting!

You can't complain if it has internet access

Seriously, I'd be horrified. If it's so damp that the table etc are wet, that's simply unacceptable.

EH, GROSS!
Ours was gold and it was filthy and stank of fags so we got moved to a much nicer one and had a lovely 4 nights in North Wales, very pleasant indeed.
If any one is from North Wales, you live in a most gorgeous place.

misdee · 31/10/2005 20:34

its doesnt have internet access, i am home now lol.

was very peed off. my room stank. will be sending them a letter of complaint tomorrow.

misdee, we just spent a long weekend in a gold standard caravan and that had black mould spots on the curtains too. we kept the heaters on all the time but it made little difference. I also thought the mattresses seemed damp, but the 3 children all slept all night!
I've complained on the questionnaire. Hope you get some response to your letter.

misdee · 31/10/2005 20:46

cerys, where did u stay ? i was at a haven park called seashore. the last time we went we had a gold caravan and it had central heating and double glazing lol.

misdee, it was Haven/British Holidays Kiln Park in Tenby (South Wales). Have stayed there before, also at their other parks and it's always been lovely. This didn't have double glazing but it did have a gas fire which we couldn't use because DS is crawling everywhere and kept hauling himself up on it!

I've never stayed so late in the season before and it all felt quite run-down, plus it had rained for about a week solid so everywhere was muddy and damp.

Believe it or not, we did have a good time!

bensmum3 · 31/10/2005 21:33

Oh misdee, it sounds awful . We stayed in a caravan a couple of weeks ago in Devon, and apart from cobwebs was really clean and tidy, not even wet windows, I hope you get a good response from your letter, sounds like the caravans need replacing.

misdee · 31/10/2005 21:36

we have stayed in many silver caravan in low seasons and none have been this damp. it was a private caravan, on a haven site which haven hire out.

Misdee - definately complain - surely this would be a health & safety issue. Did you take pictures? Feel really bad it should happen to you - goodness knows you needed a decent break!
