Has anyone used a group 1 car seat on an air new zealand flight?

I'm desperately trying to discover which one would fit. They all seem too wide, not at the base but higher up. It needs to be able to be fitted with a lap belt only.
Anyone taken a group 1 car sear on ANY flight in fact and found it fitted OK?

Sorry, haven't been online for few days so didn't see this.

I'm assuming that group 1 is the forward facing, toddler sized carseat, rather than baby seat or childs booster. If so, yes we have done this.

We took a maxi cosi priori around the world for ds (19m at the time). We were able to use it on air NZ and Singapore flights but Virgin required us to use their version of a carseat so we just checked ours in as part of the luggagae.

I measured the seat before we went and it was bigger than the measurements published on the air NZ website but we had no problems with it at all. No-one batted an eyelid. Just make it clear at the checkin desk that you want to take it on board and they'll make sure that you have an appropriate seat. It has to be by a window or in the middle of the middle aisle i think, so that it doesn't block escape routes. We found it v useful - kept ds trapped but also provided comfotable and familiar surroundings so he slept for long periods

Good luck. Where you going?

thank you loads nappybag lady, neither airNZ nor car sear manufacturers have been able to fill me in on this. I can't understand why the airline in particular just didn't seem to know what would work. I really wanted to be able to speak to a member of the cabin crew as it seemed like they were the only one's who might know!

We are off to NZ for 2 months with an eight monther and a 3 year old. I decided to book a seat for the baby too and want to put him in the group 1 car seatwhich as you say is for toddlers but is not a booster. - he barely fits his current baby seat now.
I have seen a few of your posts when checking out how to travel so far with kids. Sounds like you had a fab trip!
thanks again, if you have any other top tips would love to hear them

just thought of something, we have a maxi cosi and I thought it couldn't be secured with just a lapbelt, is this not the case?

sorry, haven't been around for a while. Yes maxi cosi was fine with lapbelt. Takes a bit of grunting to fit it and it doesn't feel as stable as it does in the car with 3point strap but it works.
