Do you think the Alps would be nice end of April?

BIL has a little apartment in Chamonix and DH and I are thinking of going there for 5 nights. There won't be snow and it won't be warm enough to sunbathe so am wondering if there'll be enough to do. What do you reckon ladies (and any gents)?

We used to run a fieldtrip to the Alps around then (am a geog teacher)... there can be some really warm lovely days (even wore my flipflops... but then other years we had snow overnight!). Depends what you like doing, would be nice enough for a bit of sightseeing, driving around and some walks :) Loved those trips even with 40 or so 15 year olds! :)

That's exactly what I have in mind sparkly. Some sightseeing and walks (and some goooooood food!). Sounds great

My husband has just been skiing in Les Arcs in the French Alps. They have had some very warm days, some rain, with snow on the high slopes overnight, but today was very hot and sunny he said.
Snow conditions are very poor for people skiing in the Alps unless it snows again soon. Lower slopes were slushy, or bare.

you will get beautiful scenery, a gorgeous town to explore, warm days, opportunities to walk or bike in mountain air, lovely food, sites to enjoy (go up the Aquiel du Midi ) - perfect for a 5 day break.

If you don't go when you have an opportunity YABTotallyU, ungrateful and spoilled. And I am jealous.

Ok, ok I'm going!!! Grin
Booking flights today, we'll do a night in Geneva on the way there. Thanks for the encouragement (and for the slight bollocking Rohanda!!)

Remember to take good suncream! DH and DS have returned home this morning, with very tanned faces and necks!
