30 days in Europe

My BF is taking August off and my Dad is having my dog so we are planning on spending 30 days camping in Europe.

Would anyone liketo look at a route and places to stop? The only conditions are that we are going Dover to Calais and we are heading towards Serbia to see my brother.

TIA :)

Hi Saggy,

What sort of things do you enjoy doing? Do you want to see cities, beaches, mountains, lazing around sort of holiday or activities? You don't mention it but do you have children? It is a bit difficult to make any suggestions without knowing a bit more Smile

I do like a bit of beach a bit of culture, and there are 3 children aged 9 - 4 :)

Today I have made this first draft route plan:

Day 1: Drop dog in Dorset. Dorset to Dover, stay in Travelodge.
Day 2: Early ferry from Dover to Calais to Leige: www.eaurouge.nl/
Day 4: Leige to Regensburg: www.camping-pielenhofen.de/index.html
Day 6: Regensburg to Budapest: www.somoditanya.hu/
Day 8: Budapest to Belgrade.
Day 11: Belgrade to Rojinj, Croatia: www.selectcamp.co.uk/Camping/Croatia/Istria/Camping-Vestar/1548/
Day 15: Rojinj to Ljubljana, Slovenia: www.ljubljanaresort.si/en/home_12/
Day 19: Ljubjana to Innsbruck, Austria: www.natterersee.com/urlaub-am-campingplatz-in-tirol-en.php
Day 21: Innsbruck to Lake Constance, Germany: www.fliesshorn.de/bodensee-camping-fliesshorn/rundgang-bodensee-camping-fliesshorn.php
Day 23: Lake Constance to Luxembourg: www.camping-birkelt.lu/
Day 25: Luxembourg to Lille: www.hihostels.com/dba/hostels-Lille-020037.en.htm
Day 27: Lille to Calais, Calais to Dover, Dover to Dorset.
Day 28: Home

Thoughts?

Sounds great, but maybe it's a lot of driving with the DC? Have you checked the mileages?

SaggyHairyArse · 31/03/2011 21:55

It is something like 2300 miles there an 22 hours driving if done in one leg which is obviously not possible!

So most legs are 6 - 8 hours but there are places to stop on the way.
