I know there are lots of threads but cannot access them at the moment... Have just booked to go to the DCR but have read some very bad reviews recently about it being dirty and shabby. Anyone tell me something nice about it!
Also, what is the food like in its restuarent and can anyone recommend a half decent meal in the actual park? Thanks sorry to be boring as I know many of you have probably answered similar questions before!

We went in July this year. DCR is being refurbished. We were in one of the cabins not yet done - they are working their way round the site I guess. The cabin was not dirty at all - spotless in fact - however it was a bit shabby.

BUT it did not spoil our holiday at all. We hardly spent any time in the cabin anyway - too busy at the parks

The DCR itself we loved. The location is grea, and the facilities are pretty good. Wish there had been a laundry though. But the hsop sold wine and chocolate, the restarant did cheap (ish) caferteria style food - not great, but passable for on holiday. DD loved the wooden play area, the fab swimming pool (open really late) and the pony rides. There were characters there every night, and many nights there were events - cicrcus tricks, etc. All in the main square, so you can sit outside in the evening with a drink whilst the childrne play and have fun.

In the parks itself we didn't really bother with great meals. We figures we were at a theme park and we just went with the fast food type stuff, or sandwiches.

In the evening 2 or 3 times we ate at the ...name of it gone- the place opposite the park, with all the bars, shops, restaurants in it... We ate at Planet Hollywood one night - same as any PH!

We did have a character meal at Cafe Mickey' too - expensive I guess, but the delight on DD's face made it worthwhile, especially when Mickey chose her to dance with him - she glowed

We went some years ago, & I will go again when funds allow. It's so easy to get from Ranch to the Park, the pool is fab & characters are easily accessible.

Again, we were only there 3 nights (on way home from main holiday) & just had fast food type stuff with no complaints.

Have a great time

Thanks for your comments. I panicked when I read the bad reviews on one of these holiday truths places.
