Nice hotel around Cotswold area as stop off on way to Devon?

I thought of starting this thread. We're going to Devon in June and want somewhere in the Cotswolds to stop off on the way back. On the way there we're going to drive into the night, stop for a couple of hours sleep in the car and drive on to get there in the morning. We did it as children and it was so exciting. Like an adventure. On the way back thought I want some comfort.

I'll be lurking around if that's okay?
