Easyjet tickets!

Hi there, I am returning to the world of air travel after being no further than Scotland for 6 years. And I am feeling a bit panic struck by the whole thing!
I have booked easyjet tickets on line, and I am not sure if I am supposed to print anything out to take to the airport. Do we just need passports?
Advice please, and no sniggering! Blush
Thanks.

Yes. Go to the "manage my booking" section on the website and print out your boarding passes (or it might say "check in online"). Take these to the airport with photo ID (for UK travel) or passports for foreign travel. Go to the queue that says "bag drop off" (something like that) and drop your bags at the desk. You don't need to check in at the airport as you'll have done it online.

Before you travel you need to check in online. You then print off the boarding pass and take that with your passport to the airport. Dont forget to check in for and print off the return boarding pass if you are not going to have an internet connection at your destination.

If you havent flown for a while, you need to make sure that all liquids are either booked into hold luggage, or declared at security in a little see through plastic bag. No liquids can be more than 100 ml. Their definition of liquid includes toothpaste, lipstick etc.

They are really strict with the size of carry on luggage in easy jet. Check the size of the bag (only one each including your handbag) you are taking on board, and this includes any shopping you buy airside.

Also be prepared to get practically undressed at security. Coats, jackets, belts, shoes, etc all have to be removed and put through the x ray machine. Allow enough time to get through the queues at security.

Always a good idea to check online. I learnt on my expense that Easyjet as others, practise overbooking.

And the queues for the luggage drop and the check in are ALWAYS very long, it's scary the first time. It isn't a good enough reason to turn up at the airport 9 hours in advance though because they always call you when the check in for you flight is about to close.

Thank you all for your advice. I will print out our boarding passess ASAP! Is the hand luggage one bag each including the kids?

It depends when you are travelling, as you can only check in and print out the boarding passes a specified time before the flight (usually about a fortnight - but all airlines are different).

Each passenger with their own seat gets the same allowance for bags. So each kid with their own seat (ie no infant on your lap) is allowed one piece of hand luggage.

Have you the required ID for the kids? Or are you flying domestic only? Check you dont need a passport for them, and that the passports are still valid.

If you are going to Spain you will also need to fill out an online 'form' for each traveller too, before you travel.

Think you can book in online with Easyjet fro 60 days to 2 hours before the flight, but do check on their website.

Have a fun trip.

Yes you need the booking refernce and to have compeleted the passport details online (think you can do it at airport but it costs extra) . Easyjet normally email you a reminder to do the details , think it is in Manage Booking
