Hi, hope some of you can recommend something. I'm nearly 4 months pregnant and need to get away for a while with dh and dd (3). Want a really cheap break. cant decide what would be best, a cheap week holiday in the sun (Spain, Portugal and hotel ideas) or a weekend city break (maybe christmas market too) or Centerparcs that looks expensive when you compare it to the other options but has no travel to. What are your ideas? What have you tried? anything awful? anything fantastic?

We took DD who was 3 and DD who was 3 months to Centreparcs and what I would say is that you won't be able to go down the slides or rapids in the pool area if you are preggers, you would be limited on the treatments you could ahve in the spa and a lot of the activities would be out as well. THat being said your DH could do a lot with DD and you could read lots of books and lounger around. If your DH is up for doing the lions share then it would be great but if he is at all moany then maybe not.

I personally would go for the cheapy sun holiday with the beach as i'm not sure how much my DS would appreciate a city break.

We went to the south of France when I was 26 weeks pregnant, we flew with Easyjet into Nice and stayed in a hotel. Priority boarding with Easyjet due to being pregnant .

Looking back, we should have got something self-catering but either way, we had a lovely time - it was March so the weather wasn't too hot.

The Old town was lovely, loads of little places to eat, a great ice-cream place etc. The beach is pebbly though.

Nice is on the railway line for loads of places along the coast that are worth a visit, notably Antibes, Cannes, Monaco and the whole area around Villfrance (which is lovely, by the way). We also went to the medieval hilltop village at Eze (on a bus en route for Monaco) and up to St Paul de Vence which was absolutely gorgeous.

I'd recommend this trip wholeheartedly!!

Thanks for your ideas, still a moot point with dh. We might ask for money for ourselves instead of presents at christmas so we can take dd to eurodisney in November, but like both your ideas too... hmmn, not good at decisions while pregnant.
