Three years of maternity (2 beautiful Ds) has left me with an excellent knowledge of local parks and coffee shops but I would like to celebrate DP's new job in a nice trendy restaurant. I was thinking of the hakkasan, any other one we could try?

Thank you!!!

I would recommend The Blue Elephant in Fulham. Lovely Thai food in gorgeous surroundings. It really is a lovely experience. Sunday brunch buffet is really nice and very family oriented if you are taking the kids.

Another place is the Big Easy on the King's Road in Chelsea. Down home Lousiana crab shack southern cooking. Great lobster, ribs, steaks, chowder and really fun.

Or for something a little bit more chi chi there is the Bluebird Restaurant also on the Kings Road. Great food and service.

Another favourite is Christopher's in Covent Garden. Great space - beautiful old building, Modern American cuisine and slightly pricey but worth it.

Try looking on www.toptable.com You can search by 'best for' (e.g. romance, special occasion, dining with kids or by cuisine type etc etc) and they have some good offers on there too

Have fun!

Definitely Pho on Wardour Street. Its much cheaper than Hakkasan but very trendy and lovely Vietnamese food too. Depends on what you are looking to spend really. Very healthy too!
