Hotel near Newbury

We're going to a wedding in July, in Greenham. I've been looking at hotels, but everything looks very corporate Ramada/Best Western/Hilton etc etc, would rather something a bit boutiquey, or even just a sweet country pub with rooms.

Any ideas?

May I suggest special places to stay. I have always had fantastic accommodation.

we stayed at a best western near newbury, just googled it was the bestwestern calcot. Its not a boutique hotel but is really nice and friendly and we actually ended up going back there with children. And the breakfast was really good.

The Canarvon Arms is a nice pub with rooms also the Crab at Chieveley both very nice. If you are looking for a hotel with facilities the 4 star Donnington Valley and 5 star Vineyard are owned by the same private individual who regularly visits and standards are very high.
A lot of the Sawdays recommendations around here have minimum stays due to racing. I suspect you are probably going to Mill Hall Greenham which is lovely and Canarvon is the right side of town for this.
