Can anyone recommend a really really cheap hotel near the Ouistreham ferry in Caen? We will arrive there late evening, and will just need to crash, and get up and leave first thing the next morning. will go to boulangerie for brekkie (first of many), so don't need that. I know about the Formule 1 hotels - but their family rooms only seem to sleep 3, which means that we'd need two rooms - DCs are just about big enough for this, but it doubles the price and I'd be nervous them being on their own.

TIA

Not sure what sort of prices you're looking for but if you google Le saint Georges or Le chalet hotels in Ouistreham they7 have family rooms for 90 Euros in July.

We stayed in a Suite Hotel when we were returning via Calais last year -excellent set-up for a family of 4 as you could partition the room. However I don't think they have one in Caen.

They are part of the Novotel group though so maybe look at their Caen hotel and see if they offer anything suitable.

How about here they have 2 hotels in Caen. We have stayed in many of their hotels over the years and think they are great. They have good family rooms. Their breakfast is also good value and well worth booking. To give you an idea of price, a family room tomorrow (Sunday) night is ?59 plus breakfast.

Formule 1 have gone down hill IMO

I would second the Hotel BB; they do great double rooms with a mezzanine over which has 2 twin beds in.

Just wanted to say thanks for the hotel BB suggestions, I am looking for a family hotel in Calais as a stop over on the way back from the Dordogne this summer, looks ideal, thanks!
