Hi. We am thinking of going to Forte Village in Sardinia next year with my hubby and DS, who will be 3 when we travel. Has any one been? What was it like? I know it's expensive, but is is value for money? What was good about it and what concerned you?

Cheers

the two families i know that have been came back, and the main thing they said was "it was SOOOO expensive" couldnt really remember what else they said about it!

I think you need to be the sort, that money really is no object. And then you can just relax and spend.

Might be easier having a 3 year old, it's when they are slightly older and so want to go bowling etc, that's when it all starts to add up.

Use the shop for eats, dont always eat out, all the usual cost saving ideas!

We had a great time there two years ago when our daughter was 4 - beautiful location and nice to be in a place with no cars. A few things we wish we'd known or been prepared for in advance: we went to the 5 star part of the resort, and it was nice, but not as luxe as I would have expected for the money; eating at the "special" restaurants is mostly not worth it - the buffets are soooooo good and more practical with little ones; the children's club was great but, unless they've moved it, pretty exposed to the sun, so keep an eye on the heat; breakfast and dinner is included but not lunch, and the lunch options are expensive - as are extra drinks (including water). It's not easy to leave the resort and they passively discourage you from doing so, but there is a small convenience store near the entrance, and I wish we'd have stocked up on water and snacks to help manage a very high extraas bill. The spa and especially thelassotherapy pools are great, but also pretty pricey, and unless they've changed, you can't really go in and out all day - not great if you want to use sports club in the am and pools in the pm. Once you get over the sticker shock, though, and also manage luxury expectations, it is a FANTASTIC place to be.
