Yes there are loads of bars and restaurants. Go for a drink at Skylon on the 2nd floor of the Royal Festival Hall - great views across the river :)

thanks, can you recommend anywhere for dining in evening?

Skylon, or walk along the river to the Oxo Tower Brasserie (book first) for more great views, or for a romantic more intimate atosphere walk along the river and then 'inland' a little to go here: RSJ, has an excellent wine list, good cooking and reasonable prices
More casual and cheap - Canteen, underneath the Royal Festiva Hall at the back of the building. Yo Sushi, Wagmamma, Strada, Ping Pong all part of the RFH complaex and surrounds. Go on the Eye at dusk.

skylon is great, have a look on line as they do a really well priced pre theatre menu. you could then go for a walk down to the Tate, its lovely in the evening.
